It seems that we just celebrated Christmas and the birth of the messiah and we are now headed for the cross.  The light of that great star is already a glimmer.  We have entered into the season of lent, a time of reflection, a time of wandering in the desert of our souls.  Yet we travel with the memory of that star, with the knowledge of how this story ends, and with God's abiding presence.
